How To Use Your Groups To Get You More Hits

Using groups to promote yourself on MySpace, Facebook, Imeem, Buzznet, and any other site you visit is one of the best ways to reach a lot of people at once.

When people begin spreading the word about a new project they're working on (such as creating a new page for yourself on Uber), they often forget to turn to the resources that are already in front of them. Many of you I'm sure are already members of a variety of groups on the web, covering a wide range of topics. Whether you are trying to get support for your band, your art, or you simply just want new visitors to your site, groups are a great resource to take advantage of.

Visit the pages of the groups you're already a part of and post new bulletins or forum topics about what you've got going on on Uber. Make sure you tie in the group purpose to your post-you don't want to be mistaken for a spammer and get kicked off! Reaching out to very active users in these communities is also a smart way to go. Contact the users that post a lot of comments and seem very interested in the topic at hand. Tell them about your page on Uber and what you're doing and why you want them to check it out. Definitely explain to them what Uber can offer them. This should be easy for you to do because you've obviously discovered why you want to be on Uber and why it's great for you, so just share this with everyone else.

To post topics within groups you're a part of:

If you aren't a member of any groups yet-spend some time and join a lot of different groups related to what you're doing on Uber. If you're a musician for example, join the general music groups, groups specific to your genre, and groups for fans of music. Other groups that may be responsive to your Uber pages are ones based on web design and design in general. One of the great appeal factors of Uber is how easily you can create a custom, unique website without HTML. You can use the appeal of Uber itself to drive people to your specific page to show off what you've been able to do with the tools.

Joining a new group on imeem:

In addition to groups, on the sites you use that have Event Invites, you can create an event to tell people that you're showcasing your portfolio on Uber, or your new band site is up on Uber and you want them to come look at what you've posted. Invite all your friends on MySpace, Facebook, etc and before you know it, a lot of new people will be visiting your page. This is a very quick and easy way to get your message out to a lot of people.

Include screen captures of your page on Uber so they can see how great it looks. To take a screenshot on a Mac, hold down apple+shift+4. On a PC, use the Print Screen button on your keyboard.

And don't forget, whether you're reaching out to groups or individuals, it's always very important to show people why they should come to your site. Of course having appealing content on your page will be one way to rope people in. My advice is to just be genuine and tell them you're making an effort to do something new and different and you want them to help you out.
